Patna: In a surprising turn of events, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, accompanied by his younger son and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, made an unannounced visit to the CM House in Patna on Friday. The leaders engaged in a 45-minute conversation with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, dispelling speculations of a strained alliance.
Exiting the meeting with smiles, both leaders addressed the media, with Tejashwi reassuring the public that all is well within the government, and there is no question of a rift in the alliance. He dismissed rumors being circulated by the BJP, asserting that such claims were baseless. Tejashwi emphasized that their meetings were routine and conducted for work purposes, stressing that the BJP’s defeat in Bihar is inevitable and carries no significant message.
This visit marked Lalu’s first appearance at the CM House in the new year. Previously, on Makar Sankranti, CM Nitish had attended the Dahi-Chuda feat at Rabri residence, where he spent 10 minutes in attendance.
Meanwhile, a legislature party meeting was convened at the residence of Leader of Opposition Vijay Sinha. BJP State President Samrat Chaudhary made a noteworthy statement during the gathering, expressing that Nitish Kumar is welcome to join the BJP if he desires, and there is no hindrance to his membership.
Meanwhile, a social media post by Jitan Ram Manjhi, the HAM (S) chief, added a layer of intrigue to the political landscape. Manjhi instructed his party’s MLAs to remain in Patna, hinting at potential political developments.
Deputy CM Tejashwi, on the other hand, directly addressing speculations, reiterated that their meetings were routine and essential for the functioning of the government. He emphasized the unity of the grand alliance, asserting that the BJP has been consistently restless since its formation. Tejashwi dismissed any claims of political upheaval, stating that their government remains robust and effective, while the BJP continues to spread unfounded rumors.
