Bihar Government Triples Pension for Elderly, Disabled and Widows to Rs 1100

Over one crore people in Bihar will now get Rs 1100 every month under the pension scheme, giving them relief and dignity

Patna: The Bihar government has increased the pension amount for elderly people, disabled persons, and widowed women from Rs 400 to Rs 1100 per month. This decision has brought happiness to over one crore beneficiaries across the state.

The new pension amount will be credited to their bank accounts from July 10. Many elderly people said this money will help them meet their daily needs without depending on others. Naval Kishore Singh from Patna’s Mokama area said, “This is a big relief for us. Now we can manage our expenses.”

Suresh, a differently-abled person from Jehanabad, said that earlier Rs 400 was not enough, but now with Rs 1100, he can buy his daily essentials. Madhavi, a widowed woman from Patna City, said the increased pension has given her financial independence and dignity.

People across Bihar are praising this decision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. They believe that this step will help them live with respect and reduce their worries about money in old age or disability.
