Patna: Nearly 19 lakh voters in Bihar remain without voter list revision forms despite the Election Commission’s intensive special revision drive ahead of upcoming elections. In contrast, out of the state’s 7.90 crore voters, 57.48% have already filled and submitted their forms within the first 15 days of the campaign.
According to the Election Commission, as of 6 pm on Wednesday, officials collected 4,53,89,881 forms from voters, marking a significant increase of 10.52% within just 24 hours. The Commission attributed this pace to the active role played by voters, election officials, volunteers, and 1,56,000 booth-level agents appointed by political parties across Bihar.
While about 7,90,00,000 forms have been printed so far, approximately 7,71,00,000 have been distributed. The remaining 19 lakh forms are yet to reach voters. Officials are confident of completing the distribution and collection process before the July 25 deadline if current progress continues.
