Patna:  In a major employment push, the Bihar government has launched a six-day job fair aimed at connecting technically skilled youth with leading companies from across the country. Organised under the state’s Skill Development Mission by the Labour Resources Department, the “Mega Job Fair-2025” commenced on Thursday at the Dashrath Manjhi Labour and Employment Study Institute near the Veterinary College in Patna.

More than 80 well-known companies—including Zomato, MRF Limited, KPR Mill Ltd, and Arvind Limited—are participating in the event, offering on-the-spot job placements. Positions are available for candidates with qualifications ranging from Class 10 and 12 to diplomas, polytechnic training, BTech, MBA and other degrees, both technical and non-technical.

Officials have set an ambitious target of providing employment to over 10,000 young job seekers during the fair, which runs until July 15. As of Thursday afternoon, nearly 50,000 candidates had registered, with over 35,000 signing up before the event officially began.

Inaugurating the job fair, Deepak Anand, Secretary of the Labour Resources Department, highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering skilled youth through meaningful employment. “This fair is a key initiative under our Skill Development Mission to bridge the gap between industry demand and local talent,” he said.

Alongside recruitment, participating companies are also offering on-site counselling to job seekers, providing career guidance and addressing industry expectations.
