Patna: People living in villages across Bihar will no longer need to visit block or district offices for most of their government work. The state government has decided to provide 45 new services at the Right to Public Service (RTPS) centres in gram panchayats. This means villagers can now complete important tasks close to home, saving their time and money.
These new services include many important works from different departments such as agriculture, food and consumer protection, transport, planning and development, revenue and land reforms, education, and social welfare. Villagers can now apply for scholarships, old age pensions, and the Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Yojana at their local panchayat itself. Getting ration cards, birth and death certificates, and renewing vehicle registrations have also been made easier.
Other services like duplicate RCs of vehicles, fitness renewals, online mutations, RC releases, and jamabandi printouts are also included. Even licences for weighing and measurement tools can now be obtained at the panchayat RTPS centres. Earlier, people had to spend hours or days travelling to offices in towns for these works.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said this step will make life easier for rural people and help build a Digital Bihar. Officials believe it will empower villages and ensure everyone benefits from government schemes without any extra hassle.
