Political Turmoil Grips Bihar as RJD-JD (U) Tensions Escalate

Patna: In a dramatic turn of events, Bihar is once again witnessing political upheaval as the rift between the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Janata Dal United (JDU) intensifies, fueled by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent remarks on dynasty politics.

A crucial meeting transpired at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence in Delhi, where Bihar BJP leaders gathered to deliberate on the evolving political landscape. National President JP Nadda actively participated in the discussions, which included key figures such as Regional Organization General Secretary of Bihar-Jharkhand Nagendra, Organization General Secretary Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania, State President Samrat Chaudhary, Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Modi, and former Deputy CM Renu Devi.

Before the high-stakes meeting at Amit Shah’s residence, a 40-minute session took place at the residence of state in-charge Vinod Tawde. The deliberations were significant, given the palpable tension and the potential impact on Bihar’s political future.

Simultaneously, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad and his deputy CM son, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, convened a meeting with their party leaders in the evening. Lalu Prasad also engaged in a telephonic conversation with Assembly Speaker Avadh Narayan Chaudhary, sparking speculation about the nature of their discussions on the recent political developments.

In a surprising move, CM Nitish  has requested Bihar Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari to return to Patna, resulting in the cancellation of Hazari’s scheduled trip to Mumbai. The unexpected recall has added to the intrigue surrounding the ongoing political dynamics in Bihar.

Amidst these developments, BJP National President JP Nadda has canceled his upcoming tour of Kerala on January 27. Speculation is rife that the decision is linked to the changing political equations in Bihar, prompting Nadda to prioritize the emerging situation over his scheduled engagements.

Bihar BJP State President Samrat Chaudhary and former Deputy CM Renu Devi, who arrived in Delhi earlier in the day, faced inquiries from journalists about Nitish Kumar’s potential alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Chaudhary remained tight-lipped, emphasizing the need to await the outcomes of the ongoing meetings.

Responding to the brewing political storm, State Finance Minister and JD (U) leader Vijay Chaudhary reassured the public, stating, “I am going to Biharsharif tomorrow for the Republic Day program…Everything is fine in the government, that is why I am going. It is the job of the parties to hold meetings. Everything is fine in Bihar.”

Meanwhile, a significant meeting unfolded at the CM House in Patna, with State President Umesh Kushwaha and Minister Sanjay Jha in attendance. Former JD (U) National President Lalan Singh and Minister Vijay Chaudhary also participated in the discussions, underscoring the gravity of the political situation gripping Bihar.
