Patna: There is great excitement among the devotees of Lord Shiva during the Shravani fair in Bihar. Every day, thousands of Kanwariyas are seen walking towards Deoghar to offer holy water. To know exactly how many devotees are going each day, a new technology is being used this time.
In Munger district, machines have been installed that will count devotees based on their heartbeat and face. According to officials, these machines have sensors to check the heartbeat and cameras to capture the face of each Kanwariya. This work is being done by Rathore Solutions, which has installed these machines at many places along the Kanwar path.
Two machines have been set up near Krishnagarh turn, two at Dhanghi Belari intersection, and one e-people counting machine has been placed in Katoria of Banka. Earlier, only sensor machines were used, but now face capturing cameras are also being installed for accurate counting.
Reports of the number of devotees are being sent daily to the Bhagalpur and Deoghar administration. This will help them manage the crowd better and keep everyone safe. Apart from these machines, CCTV cameras have also been put up at many places to keep an eye on the pilgrims for their security.
