Sasaram: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra made its way to Rohtas late Thursday evening, marking another leg of his nationwide journey. The convoy, comprising a multitude of vehicles, crossed the Son Bridge to enter Dehri, where a throng of Congress leaders and supporters eagerly awaited his arrival.
As the yatra approached Rahul Gandhi’s vehicle, the scene turned chaotic, with several leaders getting caught in the frenzy of the welcome. Despite the commotion, the convoy pressed forward, navigating through Dehri’s NH and four-lane roads, eventually making its way onto the old GT Road. Along the route, Rahul Gandhi was greeted warmly by party workers at various junctures.
Congress national spokesperson, Dr. Anshul Abhijeet, disclosed that an overnight halt was planned at Jamuhar, with a meeting scheduled near Khurmabad the following day. The route, traversing the old GT Road via Sasaram city and toll plaza, is expected to lead the yatra into Kaimur district.
The stopover at Jamuhar has been cordoned off with stringent security measures in place to prevent unauthorized entry. Even members of the press have been barred from accessing the area. Rohtas District Magistrate, Naveen Kumar, and Superintendent of Police, Vineet Kumar, have overseen the security arrangements at Jamuhar, with personnel from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) stationed outside along the old GT Road.
In anticipation of Rahul Gandhi’s visit, a briefing was held by district officials and police officers at the DRDA auditorium of the Collectorate. District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police issued directives to ensure seamless coordination and security throughout the yatra’s passage.
