Patna: Passengers travelling through Patna will soon be able to check their train details and purchase tickets before arriving at the city’s main railway station, as part of new facilities planned at Bihar’s first multi-modal transport hub.
The hub, located near GPO Golambar and linked to Patna Junction by a 440-metre underground subway, handles about 15,000 passengers daily. Authorities plan to install LED display boards showing platform numbers, train timings, coach positions and other details, alongside automated ticket vending kiosks.
The initiative, overseen by Patna Smart City and inspected by railway officials, aims to ease congestion at the station and make travel more convenient. The kiosks will allow passengers to buy tickets quickly without standing in long queues, with digital payments via UPI, card or code also supported.
Officials said the new displays would give travellers real-time information before reaching the station, reducing confusion and delays. The expansion of automated ticketing is expected to speed up boarding and improve the overall passenger experience.
