CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates First Phase of Simaria Ghat Riverfront Development in Begusarai
Begusarai: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated the inaugural phase of Bihar’s pioneering riverfront project along the banks of Simaria Ganga in Begusarai. The ceremony, graced by Union Minister Giriraj Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Minister Vijay Chaudhary, and former Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha, underscored a collective commitment to regional development.
Arriving precisely at 4:00 pm amidst stringent security measures, CM Nitish commenced the inauguration proceedings by unveiling the foundation stone, followed by the ceremonial ribbon-cutting to mark the park’s official opening. Subsequently, he participated in prayers along the banks of the Ganga.
Engaging with officials, the CM sought comprehensive insights into the project’s intricacies, offering directives where necessary. Department’s Additional Chief Secretary Chaitanya Prasad and former minister Sanjay Kumar Jha provided detailed briefings on the ongoing work.
However, following the inauguration and inspection, CM Nitish departed without addressing the gathered audience, leaving attendees awaiting remarks or statements.
Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, speaking on the occasion, emphasized the symbolic importance of the riverfront development, noting its historical resonance as a site for Kalpavas and Mahakumbh rituals. He underscored the project’s broader significance for Bihar, envisioning Simaria’s transformation akin to Janaki Pauri, a landmark development that would draw visitors from across the nation.
Concluding, Deputy CM Sinha reaffirmed the government’s dedication to transparent and accountable governance, asserting a commitment to rebuild public trust and confidence in Bihar’s developmental agenda.
