Patna – In a massive rally at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday. Braving the rain, Grand Alliance supporters stood steadfast as Lalu delivered a spirited 25-minute speech, touching on various issues and challenging the leadership of both Modi and Nitish.
Lalu Targets PM Modi: Accusations of political dynasty and Religious Identity
Lalu Yadav, in a fiery address, accused Prime Minister Modi of speaking on political family dynasty despite not having a family himself. He went further, claiming that Modi is not a Hindu, questioning why the Prime Minister did not shave his beard and hair after his mother’s demise. Lalu asserted that Modi is sowing seeds of hatred in the country.
Nitish Kumar Faces Criticism: “Paltu Ram”
Turning his attention to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Lalu claimed that they refrained from using derogatory language but emphasized Nitish’s political shifts. Lalu lamented his own past decision to align with Nitish, referring to him as “Paltu Ram,” suggesting regret for trusting Nitish, who eventually switched political allegiances.
Grand Alliance Rally Highlights: Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Tejashwi Yadav Speak
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, addressing the gathering, described Bihar as the nerve center of the country’s politics, highlighting the state’s historical role in driving national change. Rahul criticized the Prime Minister, stating that the country needs an end to injustice, asserting that Modi works for only a few individuals.
Tejashwi Yadav, echoing his father’s sentiments, accused Nitish Kumar of flip-flopping and claimed that the Janata Dal (United) would cease to exist in 2024. Tejashwi defended his father’s legacy, stating that Lalu Yadav brought profit to the railways and accusing the Prime Minister of privatization.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge labeled Modi a liar, citing unfulfilled promises of job creation and the deposit of Rs. 15 lakh in every citizen’s account. Kharge emphasized the need for change and criticized the current government for its alleged failures.

The Grand Alliance rally saw the participation of leaders from various political parties, including former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, CPI(M) leaders Dipankar Bhattacharya, D. Raja, and Sitaram Yechury, as well as Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal.

Tejashwi Yadav, in his address, defended his achievements, claiming to have provided jobs to 3 lakh people in Bihar. He challenged PM Modi’s assertions and accused the BJP of serving the interests of Adani and Ambani.

Several leaders, including D Raja and Akhilesh Yadav, expressed the need to unite against the BJP. D Raja accused Modi of being with Adani and Ambani, labeling the current government as an “RSS government.”
