Patna: The government has announced that old number plates will soon be banned, and all vehicles must have High Security Registration Plates (HSRP). This step has been taken to improve road safety and make it easier to identify vehicles. Traffic police have warned that vehicles without HSRP may face challans, and in some cases, even be seized.

HSRP is different from normal number plates. It is made of aluminium and has a unique serial number, hologram and laser code. Along with the plate, a colour-coded sticker is provided that shows the fuel type of the vehicle, such as petrol, diesel, CNG or electric. The biggest advantage is that if the vehicle is stolen, it becomes much easier to track it. This rule is applicable to all vehicles, especially those registered before 1 April 2019. New vehicles already come with HSRP, but owners of older vehicles must get it installed soon.

Traffic police have said they will take strict action against vehicles that do not follow the rule. If a vehicle is found without an HSRP, a challan can be issued on the spot. In serious cases, the vehicle could also be seized. Authorities have advised vehicle owners to get their new plates fitted as soon as possible to avoid problems.

Getting HSRP is now easier as it can be booked online. Vehicle owners can visit bookmyhsrp.com, enter the registration number, chassis number and engine number of their vehicle, and select whether they want to get it fitted at home or at a nearby dealer. After making the online payment, a booking receipt is provided which must be shown at the time of installation. The cost for two-wheelers is about Rs 300–400, while for four-wheelers it is Rs 500–600.

Officials say that HSRP will help stop the problem of fake number plates and reduce crimes involving stolen vehicles. It will also make it easier for police to track vehicles breaking traffic rules. Authorities have reminded vehicle owners that this is not just a formality but a legal requirement, and it will also ensure the safety of their vehicles.

  • 🌩️ Big weather shift in Bihar!
After days of intense heat, relief is finally on the way as storms and rainfall are set to hit the state from April 25. According to India Meteorological Department, a low-pressure system over the region will bring thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rain for the next few days 🌧️
🌡️ While northern districts may see immediate showers and cooler conditions, parts of south Bihar—including Gaya and Rohtas—could still face heatwave conditions for a bit longer.
⚠️ Alerts have been issued: • Yellow alert in several districts for thunderstorms & lightning
• Orange alert in parts of north Bihar with chances of heavy rain
• Wind speeds may reach up to 50 km/h
📍 Cities like Patna, Bhagalpur, and others are expected to see a dip in temperature by April 27–28.
💡 Stay safe: Avoid open areas during lightning, limit outdoor activity in peak heat, and stay hydrated.
Relief is coming—but caution is still key ⚡🌦️

  • 🚧 Big shift in urban development in Bihar!
The government has rolled out a new township policy that could change how cities expand. Under the land pooling model, landowners will get back 55% of their land as fully developed plots, while the remaining land will be used for roads, infrastructure, public amenities, and housing.
🌆 New greenfield townships are planned across 11 cities, including Patna, aiming to boost planned growth and significantly increase land value over time.
💡 Instead of direct compensation, the focus is on long-term gains—with better roads, electricity, water supply, and civic facilities expected to raise property prices.
⚖️ To ensure smooth execution, the government has also: • Introduced transparency measures
• Set timelines and penalties for delays
• Imposed restrictions on land sale in selected areas to prevent speculation
📈 The move positions landowners as stakeholders in development—turning raw land into a future asset.

  • 🌡️ Heatwave hits hard, and Patna is feeling the surge—literally!
As temperatures cross 40°C, the city’s electronics market is booming with a sharp rise in demand for ACs, coolers, and fans. Sales have jumped by 25–35%, with buyers increasingly choosing energy-efficient options like BLDC fans and inverter ACs to cut down on electricity bills ⚡
Prices have also gone up by 5–8%, and high demand means quick deliveries are getting tougher. From Rs 30,000–60,000 ACs to budget-friendly coolers, every segment is seeing strong traction this summer.
With the heat showing no signs of slowing, Patna’s cooling appliance market is expected to generate business worth Rs 300–400 crore this season 💰

As temperatures rise across Patna, the zoo has stepped up efforts to protect its animals with smart cooling systems and diet changes. From air coolers and mist foggers to sprinklers and water sprays, enclosures are being kept cooler—especially for lions, tigers, bears, and other heat-sensitive species.

  • 🚧 Clean fuel rollout hits a roadblock in Bihar
PNG expansion in the Danapur–Bihta belt has come to a halt due to delayed clearance along NH-139. With the NOC from National Highways Authority of India still pending, pipeline work remains stuck—impacting households, industries, and upcoming CNG supply plans.
The delay is affecting key areas like Danapur and Bihta, including industrial zones facing fuel shortages. Once approved, the project led by GAIL India Limited could bring cleaner, more reliable energy within months.
But for now, thousands continue to wait as the push for sustainable fuel slows down ⛽⚠️
