Patna: India Skills 2023-24, a prominent skill development competition, is underway in Bihar, aiming to nurture and elevate the capabilities of youth across various disciplines. This initiative serves as a crucial stepping stone for participants aspiring to compete on national and international platforms, including the prestigious World Skills competition.

The program primarily focuses on cultivating employable skills tailored to meet market demands, thereby bolstering workforce readiness across industries. It aims to bridge the existing skill gap by meticulously mapping industry requirements, aligning academic degrees with practical skills, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.

Emphasizing the integration of competencies, applied knowledge, and practical training, India Skills endeavors to equip youth with the requisite skills to thrive in the 21st-century workforce.

The World Skills Competition, organized biennially by World Skills International, serves as a global benchmark for excellence, drawing participation from 86 member countries and offering a standardized evaluation of business proficiency.

Bihar Skill Development Mission, in collaboration with 19 partner institutions, is hosting a statewide competition encompassing 41 disciplines, with participants competing for spots in the future World Skills Competition. Notable disciplines include 3D Digital Game Art, Cloud Computing, Automobile Technology, Cyber Security, and Fashion Technology, among others.

A total of 348 participants are vying for top honors in the competition, with winners earning the opportunity to represent Bihar at the India Skills Competition, further advancing their prospects in the realm of skill development and employment.

Operated under the Labor Resources Department, Bihar Skill Development Mission remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering the state’s youth through skill enhancement initiatives and facilitating their integration into the workforce.
