Patna: The Department of Fashion Designing at Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, recently hosted an expert lecture aimed at providing students with insights into the competitive world of fashion. The session, titled “Fashion Portfolio and Insights for Career Advancement”, featured distinguished guest speaker Abbhijit Anand, a Mumbai-based fashion stylist and design curator with over 15 years of experience.
During the lecture, Anand emphasised the importance of a well-curated portfolio as a tool for showcasing creativity, skill, and professionalism. He shared practical strategies for students to make their portfolios stand out and provided an overview of the qualities industry professionals seek when evaluating emerging talent.

The event was organised under the guidance of Dr Shemoshi Madhu, Head of the Department, and Coordinator Geetanjali Choudhary, with all departmental faculty – including Asha Pandey, Priyanka Singh, Purnima Roy, and Vandana Sinha – in attendance.
Students from BAFD Semester I and III, along with postgraduate diploma candidates, participated in the session, gaining direct insights from a seasoned industry professional. The programme was lauded as a valuable opportunity for students to refine their career trajectories and deepen their understanding of the fashion industry.
