IIM Bodh Gaya Partners with State Health Society Bihar to Enhance Healthcare Leadership
Bodhgaya: In a bid to bolster leadership and general management skills among healthcare professionals, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya recently conducted a Management Development Program. This program, focused on ‘Leadership & General Management,’ took place from March 11 to 16 at Bodhgaya.
Approximately 60 Health Officers from various regions of Bihar actively participated in the training sessions. The curriculum of the program encompassed crucial management essentials such as strategic thinking, team building, emotional intelligence, vision and mission setting, ethical mindset, service delivery, quality and lean management, along with other general management skills essential for enhancing the efficiency of healthcare systems.
The initiative underscores IIM Bodh Gaya’s ongoing commitment to making a positive social impact by fortifying Bihar’s healthcare delivery system. Professor Swapnarag Swain, Chairperson of Hospital and Healthcare Management (HHM), highlighted the program’s objective of fostering collaborative and mutually beneficial academic and professional relationships. Additionally, the initiative aimed to showcase significant milestones achieved within the healthcare domain in Bihar.
Reflecting on the program’s impact, one attendee noted that it not only imparted management skills but also instilled leadership qualities. Participants expressed their commitment to implementing the learnings gained from the program in their respective domains, with the aim of enhancing hospital operations and benefiting society at large.
Furthermore, the program served as a platform for in-depth discussions on the development and advancement of the Bihar Healthcare sector. Participants exchanged ideas and suggestions aimed at strengthening the healthcare system, making it more resilient and responsive to the needs of the community.
