Chirag Paswan Confirmed for Hajipur Seat, Vows Loyalty: ‘Tickets Only for Supporters in Tough Times’
Patna: In a significant development, the Central Parliamentary Board meeting of Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in Delhi concluded after an hour, with Chirag’s candidacy from the Hajipur seat being formally approved. He is set to represent the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from this constituency.
During the meeting, Chirag articulated the party’s stance, emphasizing the importance of loyalty and resilience. He stated that only those leaders and workers who stood by the party during difficult times would be considered for candidacy. Furthermore, he asserted that the party would refrain from using helicopters for candidate arrivals and would not prioritize individuals who had previously defected and later returned.
Following the meeting, Chirag addressed the media, expressing determination for the upcoming electoral battle. He articulated the collective aim of securing over 400 seats, stressing unity within the alliance to achieve this goal. Chirag revealed that the Bihar Parliamentary Board had proposed several names for candidacy, which were discussed during the meeting. He assured that consensus would be reached on the candidates for all seats within the next 2 to 4 days.
Chirag concluded by affirming his candidacy for the Hajipur seat, which holds significance as the political stronghold of his late father, respected leader Ram Vilas Paswan. He affirmed his commitment to contesting as both an NDA candidate and a representative of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).
Sources within the party disclosed that discussions revolved around potential candidates for various constituencies. Notably, for the Vaishali seat, the names of Ravindra Singh and Sanjay Singh were deliberated upon. Both individuals hold the position of national vice presidents within the party. Similarly, the meeting addressed candidates for the Khagaria seat, considering State President Raju Tiwari and Vice President Ajay Kushwaha.
Furthermore, deliberations extended to the Samastipur seat, with four party-affiliated leaders under consideration as potential candidates.
In the NDA alliance, LJP (Ram Vilas) has secured seats in Hajipur, Samastipur, Jamui, Khagaria, and Vaishali. Chirag had previously announced his intention to contest the elections from Hajipur.
