Patna: In a significant move to strengthen the examination system, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has established 10 high-tech examination centers across nine divisions of the state. These centers, designated as model examination centers, aim to curb cheating and malpractices while ensuring transparency and fairness in the evaluation process.
According to officials, the newly developed facilities can accommodate a total of 11,392 candidates at once, offering both computer-based and paper-based examinations. The largest facility, the Bapu Examination Complex in Patna, has a capacity of 2,980 candidates appearing simultaneously.
Division-Wise Centers and Capacity
The high-tech centers have been set up in Patna (Bapu Examination Complex – 2,980 seats; Model Center – 1,168 seats), Gaya (1,168 seats), Darbhanga (1,168 seats), Muzaffarpur (1,168 seats), Bhagalpur (1,168 seats), Munger (620 seats), Saharsa (620 seats), Chhapra (692 seats), and Purnia (640 seats).
Technology-Driven Monitoring
To ensure a foolproof system, each center is equipped with AI-enabled CCTV surveillance, biometric attendance, and direct connectivity to a centralized control room. The Board has also introduced a 200-meter no-till perimeter around the centers to prevent any external interference during exams.
Additionally, scribes will be made available for differently-abled candidates to ensure inclusivity.
Focus on Fairness and Credibility
The BSEB stated that these steps are part of its broader reforms to make examinations more credible and secure. “The high-tech examination centers will allow students to take exams in a safe, transparent, and fair environment,” officials said.
