Samrat Chaudhary Sparks Furor: Alleges Lalu Traded Daughter’s Kidney for Poll Ticket
Patna: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, ignited a political firestorm on Friday, alleging that RJD Chief Lalu Prasad traded a Lok Sabha ticket for his daughter Rohini Acharya in exchange for a kidney.
Chaudhary’s remarks stirred significant controversy, with him stating, “We all know that Lalu Prasad is an expert in selling party tickets. This time he has not spared even his daughter. He first took a kidney from her and then gave a Lok Sabha ticket.”
In response, Rohini Acharya strongly refuted the claims. Acharya, who donated a kidney to her ailing father in late 2022, asserted that she would address such “baseless accusations” in the court of public opinion.
Responding to Chaudhary’s allegations, Acharya affirmed her resolve to let the people judge the veracity of the claims. “I am Lalu ji’s daughter. I will answer every lowly thought and lowly word of persons having low characters in the people’s court,” she declared.
She also shared a photograph of herself with her father, emphasizing her familial devotion and sacrifice. “It is my duty and love towards my father to give one of my kidneys to him. Rohini is ready to sacrifice her life for her family and her birthplace Bihar,” Acharya asserted, adding that her parents hold a revered position in her life.
The political uproar coincides with reports suggesting Rohini Acharya’s potential candidacy in the Saran Lok Sabha constituency on the RJD ticket, further intensifying the discourse surrounding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
