Notably, failure to comply by the due date will result in an additional penalty of 1.5%. Municipal Corporation workers are actively engaging with residents, even on holidays, to facilitate tax collection.
A significant development emerged as the checks of 99 defaulters bounced while attempting to pay Patna Municipal Corporation via cheques. In response, the Corporation is issuing legal notices to these defaulters. Approximately Rs 42 lakh, contributed by individuals through checks, remains unsettled. Failure to rectify this situation by March 31, 2024, will prompt further legal action.
In a bid to enhance accessibility for residents, all Patna Municipal Corporation counters remain operational, including Sundays and public holidays. This service will continue until March 31, 2024, ensuring convenience for taxpayers.
