Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to kick off the Lok Sabha election campaign for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from the Jamui parliamentary constituency in Bihar on April 4. The event, slated to be a significant political gathering, is likely to witness the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, and Bihar NDA’s top leaders alongside PM Modi.
Former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLMO) chief Upendra Kushwaha, among other senior NDA leaders from Bihar, are scheduled to address the gathering in Jamui, emphasizing the unity and strength of the alliance as they embark on the electoral battle.
Of notable interest is the candidacy of Arun Bharti, nominated by Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Chirag Paswan, for the Jamui constituency. Bharti has already filed his nomination papers, signaling a competitive contest in the region. There is speculation that Prime Minister Modi may also address the Jamui meeting during his campaign visit to Jharkhand.
The first phase of elections in Bihar will see polling on four seats, including Gaya, Jamui, Nawada, and Aurangabad. Notable candidates include NDA’s former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi contesting from the Gaya seat, BJP’s Vivek Thakur from Nawada, Arun Bharti from Jamui, and BJP’s Sushil Singh from Aurangabad.
