Patna: The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has unveiled its senior squad for the opening matches of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season, with Sakibul Gani appointed as captain and Vaibhav Suryavanshi as Vice Captain.
Bihar, relegated from the Elite Group following a disappointing campaign last season, will compete this year in the Plate Group. The team will host three fixtures at Patna’s Moinul Haque Stadium, starting with a match against Arunachal Pradesh from October 15 to 18. Subsequent home fixtures include games against Meghalaya (November 1–4) and Mizoram (November 16–19). The Arunachal Pradesh squad arrived in Patna on Sunday ahead of the season opener.
The 14-player squad comprises Piyush Kumar Singh, Bhaskar Dubey, Sakibul Gani, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Arnav Kishore, Ayush Lohruka, Bipin Saurabh, Amod Yadav, Nawaz Khan, Saqib Hussain, Raghavendra Pratap Singh, Sachin Kumar Singh, Himanshu Singh, and Khalid Alam, with other registered players on standby.
The team will be supported by head coach Vinayak Samant, assistant coach Kumar Mridul, physiotherapist Dr Hemendu Kumar Singh, and strength and conditioning coach Gopal Kumar. Nandan Kumar Singh has been appointed team manager by the BCA.
