Patna: In preparation for the Chhath festival, the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO) has completed the development of three new concrete ghats — Bhadra Ghat, Mahavir Ghat, and Naujar Ghat — under the Namami Gange project. The initiative aims to provide a clean, safe, and convenient environment for devotees performing rituals along the Ganga.
Previously unpaved, these ghats have now been fully concretised and equipped with modern amenities. At Bhadra Ghat, a large 100-metre by 40-metre structure has been developed, featuring a gazebo, four changing rooms, a 227-metre promenade, toilets and bathrooms, a lifeguard kiosk, and high-mast lighting.

To accommodate the growing number of devotees, two additional concrete ghats measuring 30 by 20 metres each have been constructed at both Mahavir Ghat and Naujar Ghat.
BUIDCO Managing Director, Animesh Kumar Parashar, has instructed officials to expedite cleaning, decoration, barricading, and lighting works on a war footing. “Our objective is to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable experience for all Chhath devotees,” he said, adding that the initiative represents an important step in the ongoing development of Ganga ghats under Namami Gange.
