Nitish Kumar Launches Election Campaign on Nishchay Rath
Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday embarked on his first election tour by road following the announcement of Lok Sabha elections. Departing from the Chief Minister’s House aboard the specially designed luxury bus, christened the ‘Nishchay Rath,’ Nitish set forth on a journey marked by political messaging and fervent rallies.
The Nishchay Rath, adorned with slogans proclaiming “Pura Bihar Humara Parivar” and “Rojgar Matlab Nitish Kumar” on its sides, alongside the affirmation “Seva Humara Dharm” at the rear, serves as a potent symbol of Nitish’s electoral aspirations. Analysts suggest that the Janata Dal (United) party’s strategic messaging aims to counter claims of job creation by rival Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, while also decrying nepotism within political circles.
Nitish’s itinerary includes an election rally in Nawada today, where he will fervently advocate for BJP candidate Vivek Thakur. The electoral battleground of Bihar braces itself for the first phase of impending polling on April 19, encompassing pivotal constituencies such as Nawada, Aurangabad, Gaya, and Jamui. Notably, Nitish recently attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting in Nawada.
During his journey to Nawada, Nitish conducted a spirited road show in Nalanda, traversing from pond number 17 to Chora Bagicha via the bustling streets of Devi Sarai intersection. The enthusiastic reception by JD (U) and BJP loyalists, adorned with party flags and banners, underscored the fervor accompanying Nitish’s campaign trail. NDA supporters congregated near Devisarai Chowk, extending warm greetings to their leader with traditional drumbeats and floral garlands.
