Patna: A major twist has emerged in the death of Dularchand Yadav, a Jan Suraaj Party supporter killed in Mokama on Thursday. The post-mortem report has revealed that Dularchand did not die from a gunshot wound, as initially alleged, but from blunt force trauma that caused multiple rib fractures, lung rupture, and subsequent cardiac arrest.
According to the post-mortem conducted by a team of three doctors at the government hospital in Barh, Dularchand’s chest was crushed by a heavy object, likely a vehicle, causing severe internal injuries. The report stated that “cardiopulmonary failure with blunt injury to the chest and head” was the cause of death. The lungs were found ruptured, with extensive internal bleeding and multiple broken ribs. Deep wounds and abrasions were also found on the head, back, knees, and ankles.
The findings have been submitted to the investigating officer and the Election Commission, which has sought a detailed report from Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar given the political sensitivity of the case.
The post-mortem also confirmed a firearm injury near Dularchand’s right leg, but doctors noted it was not fatal. According to the report, the fatal injuries were caused by a “heavy impact to the chest.”
Meanwhile, three FIRs have been registered in connection with the incident — one by Dularchand’s grandson Neeraj Kumar, one by a supporter of JDU candidate Anant Singh, and one by the police. Neeraj’s FIR accuses Anant Singh and his aides of shooting and then crushing Dularchand under a vehicle.
The revelation from the medical report has further intensified political tensions in Mokama, where Dularchand’s killing has already sparked protests and counter-allegations between rival camps.
