Gaya: In a spirited election rally in Imamganj, Gaya, Lok Janshakti Party (R) president Chirag Paswan called on voters to support Deepa Manjhi, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) candidate backed by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Speaking at the Roshanganj playground, Paswan spent nearly seven minutes criticising the government’s performance and challenging opposition narratives, insisting that the NDA remains fully united. “Deepa Manjhi is our sister-in-law. Sister-in-laws are like mothers in our society. If you vote for Deepa Manjhi, you’re voting for my mother,” he said. “The opposition is spreading rumours about differences between LJP and HAM, but the NDA family stands firmly together.”
The rally also featured Jitan Ram Manjhi, HAM(S) national patron and Union minister, who recalled the lawlessness that prevailed in Imamganj during the 1990s. “Back then, no one would venture out of their homes after 3 p.m.,” he said. “During our rule, law and order was restored. Justice was served fairly; the guilty were punished, and no one was wrongly implicated or released.”
Both leaders warned that opposition parties seek to revive what they described as a “jungle raj,” urging voters to place their faith in the politics of development. Manjhi emphasised the need to resist forces that would take Bihar backward, appealing to citizens to support governance that ensures safety and progress.
