Rahul Gandhi Rallies in Patna, Criticizes Modi and Promises Change

Patna: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi conducted a whirlwind tour of Bihar on Monday, holding three public meetings in Bakhtiyarpur, Paliganj, and Ara. His visit was marked by a minor scare when part of the stage collapsed in Paliganj, but Rahul, aided by RJD candidate Misa Bharti, assured the crowd that he was unhurt.

Addressing supporters, Gandhi praised Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, calling him a “lion,” and criticized the growing economic disparity in India. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to deliver significant achievements during his tenure. “In India, rich people are getting richer and poor people are getting poorer,” Rahul asserted.

Rahul also mocked PM Modi’s claims about divine intervention in decision-making to evade accountability from the Enforcement Directorate (ED). “To avoid ED, he says that big decisions are taken not by me but by God,” he said.

Earlier in Bakhtiyarpur, Patna, Rahul delivered an 18-minute speech, guaranteeing that PM Modi would not secure another term as Prime Minister. He reiterated his criticism of Modi’s governance, especially regarding employment promises. “You had talked about 2 crore jobs but you did not give a job to even one youth,” he said.

He emphasized that a coalition government would be formed after June 4, describing this election as a defense of the Constitution, which he claimed the BJP intended to dismantle. “This is the election of the Constitution. BJP people have said that we will tear this Constitution and throw it away,” he warned.

Highlighting Tejashwi’s efforts in Bihar, Rahul promised significant employment opportunities, stating that 30 lakh jobs would be created nationwide under a Congress-led government. “Tejashwi gave employment to people in Bihar. There are 30 lakh jobs all over India, they will work to provide them,” he concluded.
