Patna: A farewell ceremony was held on Wednesday at the auditorium of Bihar’s Public Relations Department, where officers and staff gathered to bid farewell to the department’s outgoing director, Vaibhav Srivastava. The event saw emotional tributes from colleagues who said his tenure had brought significant improvements to the department’s functioning.
Addressing the gathering, Srivastava said the department’s work carried immense importance and that any progress achieved was the result of collective effort. “The excellent work done here is due to the hard work of all of you,” he said. “Honesty towards one’s work always leads to success. The mindset with which Bihar is viewed must change, and this responsibility rests on your shoulders.”

He urged staff to continue working with dedication and integrity. “Any work should be done wholeheartedly. Everyone has worked with commitment alongside me, and both agencies have performed well,” he added.
Additional Secretary Rajiv Kumar Singh said Srivastava’s leadership had brought meaningful reforms. “You paid more attention to the department than to yourself, and that has brought significant changes,” he said. Joint Secretary Bindu Bhushan Chaudhary echoed this sentiment, remarking that the department had “reached new heights” because of his work style, which should serve as an inspiration to others.

Officers Sunil Kumar Pathak and Rajesh Chandra were among several who praised his contributions. Srivastava was felicitated with a shawl, memento and bouquet as colleagues marked his departure.
The ceremony was attended by Additional Secretary Satyendra Kumar, Joint Director Ravibhushan Sahay and other senior officials. The programme was conducted by Deputy Director Neena Jha.
