Buxar: In view of the steadily falling temperatures and increasing cold conditions, the Buxar district administration has ordered the closure of all government and private schools for students from Classes 1 to 8 till December 25, 2025. The directive also applies to pre-schools and anganwadi centres across the district.
The decision has been taken prioritising the health and safety of children, as weather agencies have warned that severe cold conditions are likely to persist over the coming days. The order has been issued as a partial modification of an earlier directive under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
Order Effective From December 20
The district administration clarified that the order came into effect from December 20, 2025. Officials said that extreme cold, cold wave conditions and low temperatures significantly increase the risk of illness among young children, prompting the preventive measure.
Authorities stated that the weather situation is being closely monitored. If temperatures drop further or adverse conditions continue, additional decisions will be taken as required. All school managements, the education department and concerned officials have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the order.
Advisory Issued for Parents
The district administration has appealed to parents to take necessary precautions to protect children from the cold. Parents have been advised to avoid sending children outdoors unless absolutely necessary and to remain cautious during the ongoing cold wave.
Special Emphasis on Children’s Health
Officials have also advised parents to ensure children wear warm clothing, consume hot meals and receive proper care during the cold spell. The decision has brought relief to thousands of school-going children in the district. Several parents welcomed the move, describing it as a timely and necessary step taken in the interest of children’s health and safety amid worsening winter conditions.
