Patna: The Bihar government has announced a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 23 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across the state. The changes, notified by the General Administration Department on Friday, involve appointments of Deputy Development Commissioners, Municipal Commissioners, and Sub-Divisional Officers in several districts. The transfers will remain in effect until further notice.
Among the notable changes, Sameer Saurabh, a 2019 batch officer, has moved from his role as Deputy Development Commissioner-cum-Chief Executive Officer of Patna’s Zila Parishad to become Managing Director of COMFED, Patna, a post now considered equivalent to the level of Joint Secretary. Another 2019 batch officer, Deepak Kumar Mishra, previously Municipal Commissioner of Nalanda, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Bihar, while also holding additional charge as Additional Director-cum-Mission Director in the Bihar Vikas Mission.
Several officers from the 2020 batch were also reassigned. Abhishek Palasia has been posted as Municipal Commissioner of Gaya Municipal Corporation, Kumar Nishant Vivek as Municipal Commissioner of Bihar Sharif Municipal Corporation in Nalanda, Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar as Deputy Development Commissioner of Patna District Council, and Shubham Kumar, formerly Municipal Commissioner of Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation, as Deputy Development Commissioner of Nalanda District Council.
From the 2021 batch, Shivakshi Dixit has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Bettiah Municipal Corporation, Surya Pratap Singh as Deputy Development Commissioner of Samastipur District Council, and Laxman Tiwari as Deputy Development Commissioner of Saran District Council.
Officers from the 2022 batch have also seen significant postings: Parth Gupta has been assigned to Munger Municipal Corporation, Ashish Kumar to Motihari Municipal Corporation, and Kisalay Kushwaha to Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation. Gaurav Kumar, Kajle Vaibhav Nitin, and Divya Shakti have been appointed Deputy Development Commissioners of Gopalganj, West Champaran, and Kaimur district councils, respectively.
Among the 2023 batch, Garima Lohiya has been appointed Sub-Divisional Officer of Barh, Anirudh Pandey to Danapur, Kritika Mishra to Patna Sadar, and Akanksha Anand to Muzaffarpur (West). All officers have been granted the powers of Executive Magistrate under the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023.
