Hyderabad: The Bihar Development Summit 2026, organised by the Let’s Inspire Bihar (LIB) movement, was held on Saturday at T-Hub in Hyderabad, drawing more than 1,000 participants from across India. The event brought together policymakers, entrepreneurs, academics and members of the Bihari diaspora, highlighting Bihar’s role in India’s long-term development vision and signalling the growing national reach of the citizen-led campaign.
The summit was inaugurated by Etela Rajender, the MP from Malkajgiri and former Telangana finance minister, who said Bihar’s development was essential for the country’s progress. Recalling the Covid-19 pandemic, Rajender spoke about the critical role played by migrant workers from Bihar in sustaining industrial activity in southern states, arguing that India could only develop if all its states moved forward together.
A video message from Bihar’s deputy chief minister, Samrat Choudhary, underscored the political support for the initiative. While unable to attend due to official commitments, Choudhary praised the leadership of senior IPS officer Vikas Vaibhav, founder and chief patron of Let’s Inspire Bihar. He said more than 300,000 people from India and abroad had joined the movement, describing it as a strong example of citizen participation driving long-term social and economic change.
In his keynote address,IPS officer and convenor of LIB, Vikas Vaibhav outlined the movement’s vision of building a developed Bihar by 2047, with a focus on entrepreneurship, education and self-reliance. He noted the sharp income gap between Bihar and Telangana and said sustained high growth would be needed to bridge it. Vaibhav also highlighted the need for district-level innovation hubs similar to Hyderabad’s T-Hub and encouraged young people not to be deterred by failure, citing the movement’s own early struggles.
Several Bihar legislators attending the summit echoed the emphasis on start-ups, skills and investment as tools to reduce migration and create jobs within the state. The programme concluded with panel discussions on entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and skilling, along with awards recognising contributions by women achievers, professionals and entrepreneurs. Organisers said the summit marked an important milestone in Let’s Inspire Bihar’s evolution into a national platform aligned with the goal of a developed India by 2047.
