Patna: District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh emphasized the administration’s commitment to providing quality education in a district-level review meeting held at the Collectorate in Patna on Monday. He urged officers to be alert, ready, and committed to achieving this goal. He noted significant improvements in the educational environment due to the government’s efforts and directed regular communication with students, parents, and teachers for feedback and quality enhancement.
The DM stressed that lateness would not be tolerated and that all employees, including officers and teachers, must ensure punctuality. He highlighted the successful implementation of the PM Poshan Yojana in all 2,978 schools in the district and the regular honorarium payments to 9,623 cooks. The DM also directed the distribution of foundational literacy and numeracy kits to be completed within two days and feedback to be collected from students and parents.
In Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, the DM called for the establishment of digital learning boards and open gyms using funds from the District Mineral Foundation. Regular inspections and health check-ups for the girls were also emphasized. The District Education Officer was instructed to ensure all resources were available in these schools.
The meeting reviewed various aspects of the educational scenario, including the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Poshan Yojana, teacher training, and civil works in schools. The DM directed that all civil works, such as additional classrooms, toilets, and electrification, be completed by August 15, 2024.
The DM reviewed the training of 22,553 teachers in the district and directed that quality training be ensured. The progress report of the annual examination and assessment for 2024 was also discussed, with a convocation ceremony organized in 3,350 schools. Resource centers for disabled children were established in various blocks, providing comprehensive support and training.
DM Singh highlighted the importance of creative and scientific activities through clubs in schools to enhance students’ learning experiences. He directed that all schools should conduct activities based on contemporary importance through Youth and Eco Clubs and Science and Maths Clubs. He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial for holistic education.
Additionally, the DM reviewed the status of compliance with previous meeting instructions, stressing the need for consistent follow-up and timely implementation of directives. He directed officers to monitor the progress of various educational programs and ensure that all government guidelines were being strictly followed.
The District Magistrate reiterated the importance of schemes like Mukhyamantri Balak/Balika (Secondary) Protsahan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Medhavriti Yojana. He urged officers to expedite the processing of pending applications and ensure that all eligible students benefit from these programs, thus promoting inclusivity and educational excellence across the district.
