Patna: NSS volunteers from Patna Women’s College actively participated in an AIDS Awareness Quiz Competition held at Carmel Hall on January 27, 2026. The event was organised by the Bihar State AIDS Control Society (BSACS) in collaboration with the college, with the aim of spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS among students through interactive learning.

The quiz focused on promoting accurate information, dispelling myths and encouraging responsible attitudes towards HIV/AIDS, particularly among young people. Such initiatives are seen as crucial in addressing stigma and misinformation surrounding the disease, especially within educational institutions.
The programme was attended by Sumit Kumar, IAS, Project Director of BSACS, along with Alok Kumar Singh, Assistant Director (youth) at BSACS. Their presence underlined the importance the state health authorities place on youth-centred awareness programmes. The quiz itself was conducted by BSACS quiz masters Rahul Kumar Singh and Arun Kumar, who ensured an engaging and informative session for participants.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and smooth coordination by NSS volunteers of the college. It concluded successfully with a vote of thanks, reinforcing the role of student-led initiatives in promoting public health awareness and informed dialogue on HIV/AIDS.
