Valmiki Nagar (West Champaran): Chaos ensued on Monday when a Bolero carrying nine tourists got trapped in the swollen Sonha River due to sudden rainfall. Swift action by the soldiers of the SSB 21st Battalion F Company averted a potential disaster, saving all the passengers and their vehicle.

The tourists, hailing from Nichlaul in Maharajganj district in Uttar Pradesh, were returning from a visit to Valmiki Ashram when the incident occurred. The vehicle, carrying five men and four women, became immobilized as the river’s water level surged unexpectedly, causing the strong current to push the Bolero downstream. Panicked, the tourists screamed for help.

Responding promptly to the cries, the soldiers and officers of F Company stationed at the Valmiki Ashram Camp launched a rescue operation. The team managed to rescue all the tourists safely and secure the vehicle from being swept away by the river.

The grateful tourists expressed their heartfelt thanks to the SSB Jawans for their timely intervention and heroic efforts.
