Bihar Signs Rs 468 Crore AI And Tech Deals At India AI Impact Summit 2026

At the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, Bihar signed MoUs worth Rs 468 crore, including plans for an AI Centre of Excellence and a research park at IIT Patna; 10,000 jobs expected.

New Delhi: Bihar has signed memorandums of understanding worth Rs 468 crore at the India AI Impact Summit and Expo 2026 in New Delhi, marking a significant push to position the state as a technology hub for eastern and northeastern India.

At the five-day summit, which began on Monday at Bharat Mandapam, innovators from Bihar engaged with leading global artificial intelligence companies. The Government of Bihar signed agreements with several major technology firms and with IIT Patna, aimed at strengthening innovation, incubation and employment in emerging technologies.

Of the total investment, Rs 60 crore has been committed for setting up a Bihar AI Centre of Excellence (CoE), while Rs 250 crore has been earmarked for establishing a research park at IIT Patna. Tiger Analytics will serve as the industry partner for the AI CoE, with IIT Patna as the academic partner.

Additional MoUs were signed with notable global capability centre (GCC) and IT units under the Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and Bihar IT Policy 2024. These include Red Cyber (Rs 103 crore), GrowQR (Rs 30 crore) and CIPL (Rs 25 crore), among others.

The state government said the agreements are expected to generate more than 10,000 new jobs in emerging technology sectors. In addition, over 50,000 young people are expected to receive skill development training through AI-linked programmes.

The summit has drawn CEOs from more than 100 technology companies and representatives from over 135 countries. Heads of state from more than 20 countries and ministers from over 50 nations are also participating.

On Tuesday, Bihar’s deputy chief minister, Samrat Choudhary, inaugurated the Bihar state pavilion at the summit. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, Union minister for panchayati raj and fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying, attended as chief guest.

The event was also attended by Bihar’s information technology minister Shreyasi Singh, industries minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha. Senior officials present included the chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit, additional chief secretary B Rajender, industries secretary Kundan Kumar, IT secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, agriculture director Saurabh Yadav, and IIT Patna’s director T N Singh and Professor Pritam Kumar.

The state government recently approved the Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and the Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026, alongside other initiatives under the Bihar AI Mission. These include plans for a Mega AI Core of Engineering, agreements with industry and academic partners, investment intent letters with leading investors, and the establishment of a research park at IIT Patna.

Officials said the introduction of the GCC, semiconductor and IT policies has heightened global interest in Bihar’s technology ecosystem. The Bihar Pavilion has been set up at Hall 5-F, stalls 8 and 12, at Bharat Mandapam.
