Purnea: A daring robbery at the Tanishq showroom in Purnea early Friday morning has resulted in an estimated loss of two to three crores, according to DIG Vikas Kumar. The exact value of the stolen goods may fluctuate as further assessments are made.
Seven armed robbers executed the robbery, making off with a substantial amount of jewelry. They carried out the heist in broad daylight, with the entire operation taking approximately 20 minutes. The criminals, who arrived on motorcycles, held the showroom staff and customers hostage at gunpoint on the upper floor of the store, located at Dakbungla Chowk in the Sahayak Khajanchi police post area of Purnea.
The police are intensifying their efforts to arrest the culprits. Based on CCTV footage, raids are underway to locate and arrest the suspects. DIG Vikas Kumar announced a reward of three lakh rupees for anyone providing information leading to the arrest of the criminals. The identity of informants will be kept confidential.

Three investigation teams, led by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Sadar, have been formed to probe the case. The Deputy Inspector General of Police Purnea, along with the Superintendents of Police of Araria and Katihar, has been instructed to collaborate in solving the case. Additional support is being sought from the West Bengal Police.
The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team is on-site, and the Special Task Force (STF) has been deployed to assist with the investigation. Police headquarters have released the CCTV footage and urged the public to contact them at 8935980965 with any information about the suspects.
According to showroom staff member Vivek Kumar, the robbery began when three of the miscreants entered the showroom posing as customers. While engaging the staff in conversation under the pretence of purchasing jewelry, the remaining robbers entered with pistols. The gang threatened to kill anyone who resisted, forcing the staff and customers into a confined area while they looted the premises.
