Patna: The primary wing of St. Michael’s High School, Patna, hosted its Annual Science and Social Studies Exhibition on Saturday, aiming to inspire a passion for learning among its students. The event featured a range of projects by Grade 4 and 5 students, showcasing their creativity and understanding of key scientific and social concepts.
Inaugurated by Father Principal Fr. A. Christu Savarirajan, alongside Vice-Principal Sr. Magdali Beck and other dignitaries, the exhibition highlighted innovative student-led projects. Judges included Mita Singh, a science teacher from Loyola High School, Dr. Beni Lalit Minj, and Sanjana Tirkey, both professors at SXCE, and Saundarya Kumari, an M.Ed scholar from the same institution.
The exhibition displayed a rich variety of projects. Science presentations ranged from hands-on experiments and models like rainwater harvesting systems and solar-powered irrigation to interactive displays on sustainable farming and sensor detectors. The social studies section featured detailed projects on historical and geographical topics, including models of the Indus Valley Civilization, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, and thematic presentations on major landforms and gender inequality.
Interactive activities, including student-led science experiments and cultural games, engaged attendees, offering students a platform to develop their public speaking skills and confidence. The exhibition, open to parents and guardians, provided a chance for the community to appreciate the students’ dedication and hard work.
Father Principal Fr. A. Christu Savarirajan expressed pride in the students’ achievements, emphasizing the importance of inquiry-based learning. The event was hailed as a significant success, reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing curiosity and critical thinking in young minds.
