Darbhanga Airport Emerges as Key Aviation Hub, Plans for New Terminal Unveiled

Darbhanga: Darbhanga Airport has rapidly ascended the ranks to become one of India’s top-performing airports, demonstrating remarkable growth in passenger numbers. From 153,232 passengers in the financial year 2020-21, the airport saw an impressive increase to 616,058 passengers in 2022-23.

Responding to the increasing demand, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced plans to construct a new terminal building at Darbhanga Airport. The new facility, spanning 51,800 square meters, will feature state-of-the-art amenities and is designed to handle 3,000 passengers during peak hours. This expansion is expected to stimulate growth in tourism, commerce, and employment, further cementing Darbhanga’s role in regional development.
