Digi Yatra Services Launched at Patna Airport, Enhancing Passenger Experience
Patna: Patna Airport has introduced Digi Yatra services, promising a more seamless experience for passengers by eliminating the need for traditional check-in and boarding processes. The new system, which utilizes facial recognition technology (FRT), aims to streamline the airport experience, allowing passengers to bypass long queues and manual checks.
Under the Digi Yatra scheme, passengers can enjoy a contactless journey through the airport, without the need to present boarding passes, Aadhaar cards, or other documents. The facial recognition system identifies passengers at various checkpoints, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free process. This not only enhances convenience for travelers but also aids airport staff in managing operations more efficiently.
To use Digi Yatra, passengers must first download the Digi Yatra app and link it to their Aadhaar number. The registration process involves taking a selfie and uploading the boarding pass. Upon arrival at the airport, passengers scan the barcode on the Digi Yatra e-gate, after which the facial recognition system verifies their identity. Once confirmed, passengers can proceed through the gates without further manual intervention.
The system prioritizes data security, with passenger information being stored in an encrypted form and automatically deleted 24 hours after the flight. This ensures privacy while maintaining the efficiency and convenience of the new service.
