Deputy Chief Minister Directs Timely Completion of Ganga Bridge and JP Ganga Path Projects
Patna: The Deputy Chief Minister and Road Construction Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Friday convened a meeting to review ongoing projects and future plans in the state at the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Ltd. (BSRDCL) auditorium. The gathering included all officials from the BSRDCL and representatives from the relevant contractors.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed the government’s priority on timely and quality road construction. He highlighted the importance of the meeting as a platform for contractors to understand the government’s priorities and to address any issues they might be facing.
A comprehensive presentation by BSRDCL’s Managing Director Shirshat Kapil Ashok outlined the key schemes implemented by the BSRDCL. Contractors raised several issues, which the Deputy Chief Minister instructed the officials to resolve promptly. The contractors involved in major projects praised the initiative, expressing hope that their concerns would continue to be addressed by senior leadership in the future.
The Deputy Chief Minister issued directives for the timely completion of major projects, including the 6-lane bridge over the Ganga River and the JP Ganga Path project. He also provided necessary instructions for the maintenance of roads such as Mohammadpur-Karankudaria, Siwan-Siswan, Birpur-Udakishunganj, Sakkadi-Sahar, and Hajipur-Areraj.
Specific targets were set for the JP Ganga Path project, with connectivity from Digha to Didarganj to be completed by January 2025, Bhupatipur (NH-30) to the elevated path Mahuli by December 2024, Sipara ROB by June 2025, and the 4-lane road from Mahuli to Punpun by March 2025. The Deputy Chief Minister urged officials to ensure these projects meet their deadlines.
Prominent attendees at the meeting included Sunil Kumar Sinha, Chief Engineer of BSRDCL, Praveen Chandra Gupta, Chief General Manager of BSRDCL, and General Managers Ashutosh Kumar Singh and Arun Kumar.
