Bihar IPS Officer Kamya Mishra Resigns, Citing Personal Reasons

Patna: Bihar’s renowned IPS officer Kamya Mishra has resigned from her position. In her resignation letter to the Police Headquarters, she mentioned personal reasons for her decision. Kamya is currently serving as the SP of Darbhanga Rural, but her resignation has not yet been approved by the Police Headquarters.

Known for her efficiency, Kamya Mishra swiftly solved the murder case of VIP chief Mukesh Sahni’s father, Jitan Sahni, within two days. She has also served as an ASP in Patna, earning accolades for her prompt actions in resolving numerous cases.

Kamya Mishra, often referred to as “Lady Singham” in Bihar, hails from Odisha. She cleared the UPSC exam in 2019 on her first attempt, securing the 172nd rank and being selected for the IPS. Initially assigned to the Himachal cadre, she later transferred to the Bihar cadre. Kamya is married to Awadhesh Saroj Dixit, a 2021 batch Bihar cadre IPS officer, and they tied the knot in Udaipur.
