Patna: An Iftar gathering was organised at the Bihar state office of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in Patna on Monday, bringing together leaders from several political parties during the holy month of Ramadan. The programme was held under the leadership of Minority Cell president Salim Sahil and attended by the party’s national president and Union minister Chirag Paswan.
During the event, Chirag Paswan extended Eid greetings to Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, highlighting the spirit of goodwill associated with the festival. The gathering drew a wide range of political figures and community representatives.
Among those present were Bihar deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary, minority and welfare minister Mohammad Zama Khan, ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Lesi Singh, and executive national president of Janata Dal (United), Sanjay Jha. Political leaders including Sanjay Paswan, Sanjay Singh and former Raghopur MLA Satish Yadav also attended the programme, along with several minority leaders from different parties.
Addressing the gathering, leaders stressed the importance of communal harmony, brotherhood and social unity, describing the Iftar event as an opportunity to strengthen bonds across communities and political lines.
On the occasion, the party’s acting state president Ashraf Ansari and Minority Cell president Salim Sahil welcomed guests and party legislators by presenting ceremonial shawls as a gesture of respect.
According to party national spokesperson Dr Rajesh Bhatt, the event was also attended by Bihar in-charge Arun Bharti, state president Raju Tiwari, MP Rajesh Verma, national general secretary Dr Shahnawaz Ahmed Kaifi, and other leaders including Naushad Alam, Dr Intkhab Alam, Mohammad Sarwar Ali, Mohammad Zeeshan and Mohammad Kamran.
Thousands of people observing the Ramadan fast also joined the gathering, making it one of the larger political Iftar events in the city this season.
