Patna: Patna is poised for a spectacular Independence Day celebration as Commissioner Kumar Ravi inspected the final preparations at Gandhi Maidan on Tuesday, promising a ceremony marked by grandeur and meticulous planning. With the historic venue set to host the 78th Independence Day festivities, Commissioner Ravi has emphasized the critical importance of robust security, flawless crowd management, and exceptional protocol for VIPs.

Following the parade’s final rehearsal, the Commissioner underscored the rigorous security measures in place, including a comprehensive three-tier system and extensive surveillance. Gandhi Maidan will be divided into four sectors, with 98 magistrates and numerous police officers deployed to ensure law and order. Each sector will be monitored by senior officials, while the entire area will be covered by 128 CCTV cameras installed by Patna Smart City Limited.

The preparations also include a large spectator gallery, rapidly constructed to shield attendees from adverse weather conditions, and the display of 13 tableaux showcasing government schemes and social initiatives. Special events will also take place in Mahadalit communities, where local elders will lead the flag hoisting.

District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Mishra reported that additional measures, including high mast and decorative lighting, are in place to enhance visibility and safety. All officers and staff are directed to report early and remain vigilant throughout the event.
