Anti-Ragging Campaign at Patna Women’s College Sees Enthusiastic Student Participation
Patna: The anti-ragging week at Patna Women’s College reached its third day on Friday, with a series of creative events designed to raise awareness against ragging. The college hosted various competitions across different departments, including slogan writing, poster making, logo designing, and essay writing. These activities saw enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their creativity and commitment to the cause.
Notably, the Department of Computer Science and Applications (MCA) organized a logo design competition themed around ‘Anti-Ragging.’ This initiative aligns with the guidelines laid out by the University Grants Commission (UGC), which defines ragging as any disorderly conduct, whether verbal, written, or physical, that has the effect of teasing, treating, or handling a fresher or junior student with rudeness.
The events at Patna Women’s College aimed to not only educate students about the perils of ragging but also to encourage them to express their opposition to such practices through innovative ideas. The competitions provided a platform for students to creatively communicate their stance against ragging, reinforcing the college’s commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
