Patna: The Bihar Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has launched a revamped website- era.bihar.gov.in– aimed at improving transparency and accessibility in the state’s real estate sector.
The new platform, branded as ‘RERA 2.0’, was launched by RERA Bihar chairman Vivek Kumar Singh along with Vinay Kumar, principal secretary of the urban development and housing department.
Officials said the redesigned website has been developed with a focus on ease of use for the general public and prospective homebuyers. A key feature of the platform is its mobile-friendly interface, intended to address long-standing usability issues associated with government websites on smartphones.
The homepage provides users with direct access to information on registered projects, promoter rankings and profiles of registered agents, enabling buyers to assess the credibility of developers before making investment decisions.
The portal has been divided into four sections to streamline navigation. One section is dedicated to the public, allowing verification of project details, while another enables homebuyers to file complaints online and track their status.
Separate sections have been created for builders and agents, allowing them to upload project registrations, extension requests and quarterly progress reports. The platform also provides access to certified copies of official RERA orders.
In a move aimed at curbing malpractice, the website includes a dedicated section highlighting projects and buildings that are allegedly in violation of RERA norms, offering an additional layer of protection for buyers.
Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight and promote accountability in the real estate sector.
The authority has encouraged prospective homebuyers to verify project details on the platform before making purchasing decisions.
