Patna: Rainfall and thunderstorms are expected across several districts of Bihar over the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a spell of unsettled weather until March 31.
According to the forecast, light rain is likely at isolated places in districts including West Champaran and East Champaran on Thursday, with scattered showers also expected in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Shivhar, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj.
The weather is expected to intensify on March 27, with rainfall predicted across multiple districts, including Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Samastipur, Purnia and Katihar, among others. Similar conditions are likely to persist on March 28, with rain forecast across much of the state.
The IMD said the weather may remain largely dry on March 29. However, isolated showers are expected to return on March 30 and 31, particularly in north-eastern districts such as Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Saharsa, Purnia and Katihar, as well as parts of south-eastern Bihar including Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Munger and Khagaria.

Authorities have also warned of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in several regions. On March 27, districts in north-eastern, south-central and south-eastern Bihar may experience gusts of 50–60 kmph along with rain.
On March 28, parts of north-western, north-central and south-western Bihar are also likely to witness lightning and possible hailstorms.
Officials have advised residents to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions and take necessary precautions, particularly in areas prone to thunderstorms and strong winds.
