Bihar’s Environment Minister Distributes Appointment Letters for Namami Gange Project Roles

Patna: Dr. Prem Kumar, the Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister of Bihar, distributed appointment letters to 12 candidates selected for the roles of ‘GIS Analyst’, ‘Junior Research Fellow’, and ‘Junior Lab Assistant’ under the Namami Gange Project. The selections were made from applications received through an advertisement by the Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB), aimed at strengthening manpower for monitoring river water quality.
The appointed candidates include Baby Sonal as GIS Analyst, Rachna Singh and Kajol Kiran as Junior Research Fellows, and Abhilasha, Abhishek Kumar, Sneha Kumari, Md. Tauheed Alam, Deepak Kumar, Neetu Kumari, Shanu Priya, Ayush Sharma, and Sinki Kumari as Junior Lab Assistants.
During the event at the BSPCB auditorium, the environment minister emphasized the government’s efforts to provide employment to the youth based on merit and acknowledged the significance of these appointments in enhancing the state’s environmental monitoring capabilities. He highlighted the state-level efforts to control air pollution and maintain the purity of the Ganga River, stressing the importance of public participation and awareness for environmental protection.
Dr. D.K. Shukla, Chairman of the BSPCB, addressed the gathering, underscoring the role of the Namami Gange project in ensuring the cleanliness and purity of the Ganga and its tributaries. He expressed confidence that the newly appointed staff would significantly contribute to better monitoring of river water quality.
BSPCB’s Member-Secretary S. Chandrashekhar, in his vote of thanks, mentioned that 54 projects for sewage treatment plants are currently being undertaken by the Urban Development and Housing Department under the Namami Gange Project. He assured that the completion of these projects would lead to a marked improvement in the water quality of the Ganga and its tributaries, with data being made publicly accessible on the Board’s website.
