Patna: The Bihar Tourism Department has announced a significant upgrade to three key hotels as part of an ambitious redevelopment initiative. The first phase of this scheme will see the renovation of Mundeshwari Vihar in Kaimur, Singheshwar Sthan in Madhepura, and Hotel Vishwamitra in Buxar, marking a pivotal shift in the state’s hospitality landscape.
Under the redevelopment plan, these hotels will receive comprehensive makeovers to enhance their appeal and functionality. This includes a complete exterior redesign and the introduction of modern amenities. Each hotel will feature newly constructed rooms and suites with attached toilets and bathrooms. In addition to aesthetic improvements, there will be upgrades to drainage systems and overall campus management.
Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra highlighted that the renovations aim to provide tourists with cutting-edge accommodation. “Once completed, these upgrades will ensure that visitors experience the highest standard of comfort and service,” Mishra said. The redevelopment of the three hotels is expected to be completed within a year, following the finalisation of the tender process.
Tourism Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh outlined that the overarching goal is to modernise all state-run hotels to enhance visitor satisfaction. The renovation of these three hotels alone represents a substantial investment of approximately Rs 15 crore. The revamped hotels will subsequently be managed by professional hoteliers to maintain high operational standards.
Mundeshwari Vihar will gain eight upgraded rooms with attached facilities, while Singheshwar Sthan will feature 19 rooms, including a suite, and a new restaurant. Hotel Vishwamitra will see the addition of a large conference hall, eight enhanced rooms, and improved boundary walls. This initiative reflects Bihar’s commitment to elevating its tourism infrastructure and providing exceptional experiences for visitors.
