Supaul: Prashant Kishor, the convenor of Jan Suraj Abhiyan, addressed a public meeting in Pipra block of Supaul district on Thursday, expressing his vision for the state. Kishor declared that his dream is for people from across India, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Delhi, to come to Bihar in search of employment. “To fulfil this dream, I am ready to stake everything,” he stated.
During his speech, Kishor urged the public to ensure that their children receive an education, emphasising that no politician genuinely wants their children to study. “Leaders prefer your children to remain illiterate so that you continue voting for them in exchange for 4 kg of grains and khichdi,” he said. He pointed out that after elections, these leaders move on, often travelling by helicopter, while the people’s children are left without basic necessities like clothing and footwear.
Kishor highlighted the stark reality that illiterate children cannot aspire to become professionals such as doctors or administrators. He stressed that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and that without it, the future remains bleak for many in Bihar.
The Jan Suraj padyatra covered a distance of about 12 kilometers in Pipra block, with thousands of people joining Kishor, despite heavy rain. The march is part of his broader campaign to bring attention to various issues facing Bihar and to rally support for his vision of a more prosperous and educated state.
