Patna: The Department of Fashion Designing at Patna Women’s College (PWC) organised a guest lecture on Saturday as part of the Student Development Programme. Held at the Mother Veronica Excellence & Innovation Centre, the session was titled “Exploring Career Pathways in Fashion Designing: Opportunities, Innovation, and Industry Demand” and featured Dr. Rishikesh Kumar, Assistant Professor at NIFT Patna, as the keynote speaker.
Alok John, Dean of National and International Collaborations and Consultancy Services at PWC, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Kumar’s lecture provided students with a comprehensive look at the fashion design industry, focusing on the wide array of career options available, as well as the innovative trends and market demands shaping the sector. He offered valuable insights into the essential skills needed to succeed in various fashion-related careers.
The programme was organised by Dr. Shemushi Madhu, Head of the Department of Fashion Designing, and coordinated by Geetanjali Choudhary. Faculty members and students from both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the department attended the event. Dr. Shemushi Madhu concluded the session with a vote of thanks.
