Patna: In response to rising passenger demand, East Central Railway has announced the operation of a special train service between Raxaul and Narkatiaganj, aimed at easing travel congestion in the region.
Train number 05543/05544 will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, from May 16. According to the schedule issued by the railway authorities, services will continue until July 11, though officials have not clarified the apparent discrepancy in the dates.
The 05543 Raxaul–Narkatiaganj special will depart from Raxaul at 14:15, stopping at Sikta at 14:38, before arriving at Narkatiaganj at 15:35.
On the return leg, train 05544 will leave Narkatiaganj at 19:40, halt at Sikta at 20:03, and reach Raxaul at 20:50 on the same days of operation.
Officials said the move is intended to provide additional capacity for commuters and improve regional connectivity during periods of heavy passenger rush.
